Britney has premiered her second single ‘Perfume’ from her upcoming album Britney Jean, and it’s surprisingly good. Penned by hitmaker Sia, ‘Perfume’ is the rawest we’ve heard Britney in years. ‘Perfume’ is a pretty solid pop ballad, and one that fans will hopefully flock to after her somewhat disappointing “comeback” single ‘Work Bitch’.
“I’m not drunk yet, but we haven’t
spoken in months now
and I wanted to tell you that
someone threw a bouquet of roses
in the trash bin on the corner of my
street, and I wanted to cry
you know exactly why.
And, I guess I’m calling because
only you understand
how that would break my heart.”—If I Left You a Voicemail, This Would Be It (Shinji Moon)
This one’s definitely a grower for me, but it has potential. I’ve never really given Little Mix a second glance, but they might be onto something here. ‘Move’ is set to be released in the UK on November 11th.
“We are the girls with anxiety disorders, filled appointment books, five-year plans. We take ourselves very, very seriously. We are the peacemakers, the do-gooders, the givers, the savers. We are on time, overly prepared, well read, and witty, intellectually curious, always moving… We pride ourselves on getting as little sleep as possible and thrive on self-deprivation. We drink coffee, a lot of it. We are on birth control, Prozac, and multivitamins… We are relentless, judgmental with ourselves, and forgiving to others. We never want to be as passive-aggressive are our mothers, never want to marry men as uninspired as our fathers… We are the daughters of the feminists who said, “You can be anything,” and we heard, “You have to be everything.”— Courtney Martin (via confessonidebelle)
